الجمهور - نشرت قناة الجزيرة تقريرا، أشارت فيه إلى قيام الإمارات باحتلال مساحات شاسعة من جزيرة ميون اليمنية، الواقعة على مدخل مضيق باب المندب، بحسب أهل المنطقة.

وبحسب القناة، تعدّ تلك الجزيرة من أهم الطرق البحرية الاستراتيجية في العالم، ونقطة عبور البضائع من آسيا وإليها.

ونقلت القناة، في تقريرها، عن سكان ميون، قولهم إن أرضهم تحولت إلى مستعمرة إماراتية، حيث استقدمت أبو ظبي مجموعات مسلحة من قوات النخبة، وفرضت طوقا على الجزيرة.

وتمكنت كاميرا قناة الجزيرة من توثيق لقطات من دخول ميون، وأثبتت الصور الانتهاء من تشييد الجزء الأكبر من مدرج الطائرات.

وتحدثت عن رغبة أبو ظبي في الهيمنة على ساحل الجنوب اليمني والجزر القريبة منه؛ بغرض التحكم في مضيق باب المندب.
